The Philadelphia 76ers made history last night as they won their first game of the season after starting the year 0-18, beating the Lakers 103-91. The Washington Wizards also handed the Cleveland Cavaliers their first home loss of the season, and the Mavs topped the Trail Blazers in an exciting overtime game.

Six more games of NBA action are on tap for tonight, headlined by Golden State's quest to start the season 20-0 as they face the Hornets in Charlotte. Two Eastern Conference contenders also square off in one of the best games of the night with the Toronto Raptors, who are going for their fifth win in six games, travelling to take on the Atlanta Hawks. Elsewhere, Philadelphia will try to start a win streak when they take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

The Houston Rockets are reportedly trying to trade point guard Ty Lawson, who they acquired in a trade with the Denver Nuggets this offseason.

Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton and the Cavs' David Blatt were named as the NBA's Western and Eastern Conference Coaches of the Month, respectively.

The Lakers are "extremely unlikely" to fire head coach Byron Scott anytime soon despite lackluster record.

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is expected to play tonight against the Sixers. He missed Sunday's loss to the Rockets with an illness.

76ers center Jahlil Okafor will get a bodyguard after being involved in two street fights outside of nightclubs over the past few weeks.

Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving is expected to return from a fractured kneecap on Christmas Day. Irving suffered the injury in Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
