Cavs Weekly: Recapping Last Week & Previewing The Week Ahead

The Cleveland Cavaliers continued their hot start to the season last week, and now post a record of 13-5 while maintaining their hold on first place in the Eastern Conference. Let's get you up to speed with the week that was and the week ahead with our Cavs Weekly update:

Last Week:

Cleveland started their week by falling to the Raptors in Toronto, snapping what was a three-game win streak for the Cavs despite 45 combined points from LeBron James and Kevin Love.

They did get back on track Friday on the road against the Charlotte Hornets with a 95-90 win, outscoring the Hornets 23-14 in the fourth quarter. LeBron James led the way again with a double-double, posting 25 points and 13 rebounds. They also emerged with a 90-88 home win over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, the second game of the back-to-back, thanks to a floater by James with one second left. He finished with 26 points in the victory.

After two days off, the Cavs fell at home to the Washington Wizards, who were led by John Wall's 35 points and 10 assists on their way to the 97-85 victory. James was the only player to score more than 15 points (24) for the Cavs.

What's Next?

The Cavs hit the road for another Friday/Saturday back-to-back, facing the Pelicans in New Orleans on Friday before squaring off against Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat on Saturday.

Injuries:

Point guard Kyrie Irving will reportedly return to action on Chrismas Day against the Warriors, though he's "hopeful" to return earlier. He is still recovering from a fractured kneecap he suffered in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against Golden State.

Shooting guard Iman Shumpert is planning on returning from offseason wrist surgery in mid-December.
