Montreal Canadiens to open 2021-22 season on October 13

Coming off of an appearance in the Stanley Cup Final, the Montreal Canadiens will open the 2021-22 season on October 13 against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena.

Their second game will be their first regular season game against an American team in a season when they head to Buffalo to play the Sabres.

Their home opener will be October 16, when they host the New York Rangers. It could be Alexis Lafrenière’s first NHL game in Montreal. That game kicks off a four-game homestand that also sees them face the San Jose Sharks, Carolina Hurricanes, and the Detroit Red Wings.
