Montreal Canadiens: Three Standout Performances vs Toronto Maple Leafs

The Montreal Canadiens hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs last night in a classic matchup on Hockey Night In Canada. The two teams met three weeks ago in one of the wildest games we are sure to see this season. They Canadiens came back from a 4-1 deficit to take a 5-4 lead in that game. Only to blow the lead in the dying minutes and then win the game in a shootout.

Last night’s game wasn’t quite as exciting. The Canadiens got off to a great start, outshooting the Maple Leafs 19-5 in the opening period. Goals from Brendan Gallagher and Jonathan Drouin gave the team a 2-0 lead, but Jake Muzzin snapped a one-timer buzzer beater by Carey Price to make it 2-1 before the end of the frame.
