This may be the last series for Joe Girardi as manager of the New York Yankees. Girardi will be a free agent once the season ends for the Yankees which could be soon since the Houston Astros are up 2-0. Nothing is set in stone whether or not Girardi will return next season or get a contract extension. It is believed to be likely that Girardi will be the manager next season it still isn't 100 percent finalized.

This may not be up to the Yankees as much as Girardi. Girardi may decide to walk away from the manager position. Sources inside the Yankees organization have stated that Girardi seems different and his overall attitude has been different. People inside the Yankees believe it's because he will decide to leave the Yankees after this season.
