NFL free agency is just a few days old, and the Minnesota Vikings have been relatively quiet to this point (outside of updates on Adrian Peterson's free agency). However, they are ramping up their efforts to fill some needs. Here are the latest Vikings news & rumors you need to know:
Latest on Vikings potentially signing Eddie Lacy
Minnesota hosted Packers running back Eddie Lacy for a visit over the weekend, and while he left without signing a deal, Lacy said he enjoyed the visit and plans to weigh all of his options before making a decision, according to ESPN's Ben Goessling.
Lacy, who arrived in Minnesota on Saturday evening after visiting the Seattle Seahawks, said his visit with the Vikings was "pretty cool" during a brief interview at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. He said he was heading to Green Bay to visit with the Packers, adding, "It doesn't hurt to see" where things stand with the team that drafted him in 2013.
Lacy rushed for 360 yards on 71 carries in just five games last year.
Minnesota also targeting Datone Jones
Eddie Lacy isn't the only free agent out of Green Bay that the Vikings are targeting. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Minnesota is bringing outside linebacker/defensive end Datone Jones in for a visit.

Jones played outside linebacker in Green Bay's 3-4 scheme, but would move back to defensive end in Minnesota. He recorded one sack and 22 tackles on 548 defensive snaps last season.
Cordarrelle Patterson to return to Vikings?
Minnesota let wide receiver/kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson test free agency, and after meeting with the Bears, Raiders and Redskins, started a social media campaign signaling his desire to return to the Vikings.
He has been retweeting requests for the Vikings to re-sign him, and posted several messages on Snapchat detailing his desire to re-sign with the team. Patterson caught a career-high 52 passes for 453 yards and two touchdowns last season while also returning both a punt and a kick for a touchdown.
