Former University of Kansas forwards Marcus and Markieff Morris were acquitted of aggravated assault charges by a Phoenix jury Tuesday and now are free to report to NBA training camps of the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, respectively.
According to the Arizona Republic, a third person, the twins’ friend Gerald Bowman, also was deemed not guilty of assault charges.
The three had been charged with two counts of aggravated assault in the beating of Erik Hood on Jan. 24, 2015, outside a gym where a basketball tournament was being contested in Phoenix. At the time, the Morris twins played for the Phoenix Suns.
