Matildas coach Ante Milicic has unveiled a 23-player squad for the upcoming 2019 Women's World Cup.
There's no room for veteran striker Kyah Simon or young Atletico Madrid attacker Alex Chidiac in a side that does boast 16-year-old Mary Fowler and super star Sam Kerr.
"In the end there was a strong criteria based on fitness and form," Milicic said.
"I'm quite pleased with the state the girls are in at the moment.
"For (Mary's) age she's a very good footballer. This is going to be a great learning experience for her.
"This is a special group of Australian footballers because, as a unit, they have accumulated a wealth of international experience despite the average age of the team being quite young.
