Three things we learned from Orange & Blue Debut
1. The quarterback competition is over.
Luke Del Rio entered the spring ahead of the competition and a month later has a stranglehold on the job following a near-flawless performance.
Del Rio finished 10-of-11 passing for 176 yards, two touchdowns and a gaudy passer rating of 285.3 while engineering the game’s first four scoring drives.
The 6-foot-1, 213-pound does not have the size or arm strength of freshmen Kyle Trask and Feleipe Franks and has never started a college game, like Purdue transfer Austin Appleby.
