It’s OK to call him a defensive back. Or a versatile safety. Or even a special teams guy.
But never, ever, call Marcell Harris a linebacker. Don’t even think about it. In fact, don’t even mention the position in the same breath with his name.
He’s adamant about that.
When Harris was told Wednesday that defensive coordinator Geoff Collins revealed the day before that Harris has been playing some middle linebacker without even knowing it, the fourth-year junior from Orlando bristled.
“Actually, I haven’t even heard that comment,” Harris said.
