Florida Gators Football: Recruiting Roundup For The Bye Week

The Florida Gators benefited from losses by formerly-undefeated Utah and Florida State this week, moving up from #13 to #11 in the AP Poll. That's not the only big news from the bye week, as there is plenty on the recruiting trail to discuss with the coaches free for the weekend. Here's our Florida Gators Football: Recruiting Roundup For The Bye Week.

McElwain Watches Four-Star WR Target

Head coach Jim McElwain, along with wide receivers coach Kerry Dixon, made a trip to Tampa Catholic High on Friday night to watch four-star 2016 WR target Nate Craig-Myers. Craig-Myers was certainly aware of their presence.

“You know, it was just an honor to have the head coach come out to watch me,” Craig-Myers said after the game. “That means something to me. You know, it shows that I’m a priority to the Gators.”

Craig-Myers scored on a 75-yard kickoff return and on a 82-yard breakaway on a tunnel screen -- the latter of which drew some animated Gator "Chomps" and a smile from McElwain on the sideline.

“That’s my guy,” Craig-Myers said of McElwain. “It’s just all out of love.” Craig-Myers is currently ranked as the #36 overall recruit in the Class of 2016 by 247Sports.

A Pre-Weekend Decommitment

Florida lost a member off its Class of 2016 ledger on Thursday when JUCO offensive guard Branton Autry announced his decommitment via Twitter.

Florida is now down to 20 total commits in the Class of 2016.

Autry is currently ranked as the #18 JUCO player in the nation by 247Sports. He holds 12 offers and is considered to now be a major Arkansas lean.
