Florida Football Recruiting: Gators WR Commit To Visit South Carolina

Florida Gators wide receiver commit Rick Wells (Jacksonville, FL) visited the Gators on Friday during their 7-on-7 camp with Florida’s two other wide receiver commits - Josh Hammond of Hallandale (Fla.) and Isaiah Johnson out of Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) Dwyer:

“It’s a good group, everybody can make plays, deep ball threats, everybody is a threat,” Wells said of the trio to 247sports.. “I feel if everybody comes in, this class can be special. We are going to change the program. [The coaches] are just ready for me to get on campus and be a part of the program. They are ready for me to be in in some orange and blue.”

However, Wells has not shut down his recruitment, and is eyeing a SEC East rival.

“I’m going to South Carolina June 13 for the showcase and I’m going to try to get to Michigan State sometime this summer. Just to see the campus, coach Spurrier is talking good talk. I just want to see how it is, what the campus is like.”

Wells is ranked as the nation’s No. 69 wide receiver in the 2016 class.
