Top-Ranked 2016 PF Harry Giles III Commits To Duke

Five-star High Point (NC) Oak Hill Academy power forward Harry Giles III is the top-ranked power forward in the Class of 2016 and the #2 overall recruit, per 247Sports. He's also on his way to becoming a Duke Blue Devil after announcing his intent to sign with the program on ESPN's SportsCenter at noon EST on Friday.

Giles' commitment rockets Duke's 2016 recruiting class to #1 nation, adding him to a five-star frontcourt mix with #1 overall Saint Louis (MO) Chaminade College Prep small forward Jayson Tatum.

The 6'10" senior's announcement ends a three-year courtship by Duke. He selected the Blue Devils over fellow finalists Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina and Wake Forest.

Giles suffered a torn ACL in his right knee this week early into his first game with Oak Hill Academy this year. It's his second major leg injury, but most recruiting experts expect the former USA Basketball U-16 standout to be ready and able when Duke opens up its season next year.
