GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The game was going to require a special effort, but Colorado State's third phase was mishandled from the start.
CSU punter Ryan Stonehouse dropped the ball on his first attempt. Not ideal, but Florida's incoming rush was on him about the time the ball was, so the only thing it may have saved was getting the punt blocked.
That came later.
Instead, he was hit, fumbled and Florida was in business, because it was just the first in a long line of special-teams miscues in a 48-10 loss to the Gators at The Swamp on Saturday.
