Avalanche trade Dryden Hunt to Toronto Maple Leafs for Denis Malgin

The Colorado Avalanche traded winger Dryden Hunt to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Denis Malgin on Monday morning, the team announced.

Malgin has two goals and two assists in 23 games this season. He has been in the NHL since 2016-17, starting with the Florida Panthers. In his 215-game career, he has compiled 30 goals and 34 assists. Colorado will be his third team.

Hunt played 25 games with the Avs after being claimed off waivers from the New York Rangers. He scored one goal during his brief stint in Colorado, playing a “consistent to his identity” and “low-event hockey” style on the fourth line that coach Jared Bednar praised.
