Sam Kerr Nominated For BBC’s Women’s Footballer Of The Year

Yesterday the BBC announced the five-woman shortlist for their annual Women’s Footballer Of The Year award. Among the nominees: Chicago Red Stars forward Sam Kerr.

Kerr is a finalist for the prestigious award along with Lucy Bronze (Lyon/England), Dzsenifer Marozsan (Lyon/Germany), Lieke Martens (Barcelona/Netherlands), and Pernille Harder (Wolfsburg/Denmark). The 2017 league MVP and all-time leading scorer is the only current NWSL player to make the list.

The Australia international joined the Red Stars this season but has yet to play in a league game. Kerr has been on extended national team duty, first in the Algarve Cup and then in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup.
