Carolina Hurricanes offense erupts for six in win over Leafs

The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 26 to end a two-game losing streak that started in Oct. 21 against the Dallas Stars. This was the first win for the Canes against a team from the Eastern Conference through eight games.

Carolina started fast, getting off to a 2-0 lead early in the first period. Josh Jooris and Teuvo Teravainen scored the first two goals. Five of Carolina’s six goals came from different scorers. Surprisingly enough, the goal scorer for the Canes entering the game, Jeff Skinner, was not one of the goal scorers.

Teravainen finished the game with three points, to lead the Canes.
