After being a NHL powerhouse for nearly a decade, the Chicago Blackhawks have come back to reality missing the playoffs the past two seasons. Refusing to go in to full rebuild mode within the ultra-competitive Central Division, the Blackhawks did a small rebuild on the fly.
Adding defensemen Calvin de Haan and Olli Maatta to the mix should help their putrid defense which ranked dead last on the penalty kill and next to last in goals against.
