Big boys rule the day at Hockey Canada goalie camp [Video]

TORONTO - Corey Hirsch was trying to find a way to properly explain why some of the largest bodies on the ice these days are between the pipes.

The former NHL netminder turned to Barrie Colts goalie coach Mike Rosati for affirmation.

“It’s really physics is what it is,” Hirsch said in Rosati’s direction, settling on the right choice of words.

The more space a goalie takes away, the harder it is for the opposition to score.

Logical stuff.

“That one extra inch, if you’ve got to make a leg save,” Hirsch added, “it’s the difference between making the save and not making the save.
