Buffalo Sabres rookie forward Jack Eichel was absent at the team’s practice on Monday morning.
Eichel’s absence at practice comes after he missed Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
According to Buffalo Sabres head coach Dan Bylsma, Eichel missed that game with the flu.
It was the first missed game of his young NHL career.
In his place, forward Dan Catenacci was recalled by the Buffalo Sabres from the AHL’s Rochester Americans for Saturday’s game.
Catenacci was then sent back to Rochester on Sunday, which led many to believe Eichel was healthy and ready to go.
