Tremaine Edmunds named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after Buffalo Bills shutout win

A week after Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week award, his counterpart Tremaine Edmunds has been named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Week. Edmunds received the honor for his impact performance in Buffalo’s shutout win over the Houston Texans. In that game, Edmunds led the team in tackles and had the first of the team’s four interceptions.

This is the first “Player of the Week” honor for Edmunds, and the first one for the Bills since A.J. Klein won the award last season.

Six tackles and an interception doesn’t usually scream “best defender of the week,” but it was an unusually weak field of individual defenders for the AFC.
