Jim Montgomery didn’t show his hand on Saturday morning when asked which of his two goalies would get the call in net for Game 1 against the Maple Leafs.
“It’ll be one of the guys in pads out there,” Montgomery said after morning skate at Warrior Ice Arena.
Over seven hours later, we finally received our answer. Jeremy Swayman led the Bruins out onto the TD Garden ice for warmups, with the 25-year-old getting the nod for Boston’s playoff opener against its Original Six nemesis.
With Swayman starting, the Bruins have carried their goalie rotation over from the regular season, with Boston now switching off starts between Ullmark and Swayman over its last 26 games.
