200-Foot Game Has Been Key For Leafs’ Matthews Breaking Through In Playoffs against the Bruins

By James Murphy, Featurd

Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews broke a 0-0 deadlock 11:33 into the third period that proved to be the game-winner in a 2-1 Game 5 win over the Bruins and he may look back on that goal as the moment where a "clutch" Auston Matthews arrived.

With the win, the Leafs are now one win away from advancing to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs for the first time since the 2003-04 season. The irony of that moment though is that Matthews' elite offensive skill wasn't the sole reason he beat Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask with a laser, that despite getting tangled up with Toronto forward Zach Hyman, was going to beat Rask anyhow.
