Arizona product Auston Matthews scores controversial goal as Maple Leafs take series lead over Bruins

Arizona-raised Auston Matthews potted the first goal in a Game 5 win for the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Boston Bruins, but it wasn't without a great deal of controversy.

Matthews collected a feed from Jake Muzzin and shot the puck past Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask, but the Bruins challenged the goal while citing goaltender interference.

Upon replay, Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman clearly made contact with Rask at the top of the goal crease after initiating his own contact with Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy.

The goal was upheld, and the Maple Leafs scored again minutes later to take a 2-0 lead.
