The Coyotes, who have been looking to keep star forward Clayton Keller for the long term, announced Wednesday they have signed him to an eight-year contract extension through the 2027-28 season.
This commitment to one of the cornerstone pieces of the franchise is another sign of stability and high expectations heading into the 2019-20 campaign, following the arrival of new owner Alex Meruelo and the trade for scorer Phil Kessel.
