NEW YORK CITY – Xavier escaped St. John's University and Queens and, maybe, there's not much else to say about it.
The Musketeers closed out January with 20 wins after claiming No. 20 in a 73-68 victory over listless St. John's at Carnesecca Arena.
The victory was far from a masterclass by America's No. 6-ranked team, but, frankly, against the Red Storm, they didn't need to be better than they were on the day.
