MILWAUKEE — Seventeen-year-old Markus Howard sent Xavier men's basketball back to the drawing board.
Howard, Marquette University's freshman guard who enjoyed a career night against the Musketeers Saturday, torched the visitors with 34 points and a program-record-tying nine made 3-pointers.
Howard buried the visitors in the second half as he scored 23 points over the final 19 minutes.
It was more bad luck for Xavier, which self-corrected and pulled itself back into the game after a nightmare start.
