NEW YORK – The solid ground Xavier was in search of – in its race for the NCAA Tournament – this week at the Big East Tournament crumbled and disappeared right under the Musketeers' feet Wednesday night with a 71-67 loss to DePaul at Madison Square Garden.
For a team that should have been playing with desperation, there were extended stretches at both ends of the floor that didn't look or feel right for a team on the NCAA Tournament bubble.
If it wasn't poor shot selection it was a careless turnover.
