They weren’t aware of it at the time, but Jason Carter and Riece Drew were both thinking the same thing.
In the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic and a daily news cycle that’s felt more like a lingering dark cloud overhead, Carter and Drew, a pair of Xavier University student-athletes, wanted to help.
Both members of Xavier’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Carter, a junior on the men’s basketball team, and Drew, a senior on the women’s swim team, reached out to SAAC sponsor Leslie Fields.
“Leslie and I were discussing that we need to do something because we know so many people, in what we all call home, Cincinnati, are being affected by the coronavirus,” said Drew.
