Things aren’t so bad for Xavier basketball after all.
With the rising of the sun Sunday, Xavier and its fans found their team was still a projected No. 1 NCAA Tournament seed despite the prior day’s loss to Villanova.
And Monday brought more good news: Xavier remained the No. 4-ranked team in America, partly as a result of its own play Saturday in defeat against the Wildcats and partly because of other results around the country.
But regardless of the particulars, that little “4” would remain affixed to Xavier’s name for another week.
At 24-4 overall, 12-3 in the Big East Conference and no bad losses weighing down its NCAA Tournament resume, Xavier remains on sound footing as it heads for the home stretch of the 2017-18 regular season.
