Typically, 90 points on your home court should be enough to log a win in Big East Conference play. Unless, of course, Marquette University guard Markus Howard goes off for one of the best single-game performances in the history of the storied league.
Howard thrashed the Providence College Friars for 52 points Wednesday night at the Friars' Dunkin Donuts Center, tying the Big East's single-game scoring record in Marquette's 95-90 overtime win.
As a result of Howard's performance, a hard-luck Friars program that began 2017-18 with lofty expectations dropped to 10-6 overall and 1-2 in league play.
