Xavier men’s basketball will host Winthrop next season, according to a report by college basketball analyst Rocco Miller.
Miller tweeted the news on Wednesday, saying Xavier will host Winthrop Dec. 16 at Cintas Center.
Winthrop’s head coach is Mark Prosser, the son of former Xavier head coach Skip Prosser. Prosser, who coached at XU from 1994-2001, died in 2007 while he was the head coach at Wake Forest. He is third in Xavier history in career wins (148).
Winthrop, a member of the Big South Conference, finished 15-17 last season.
Mark Prosser will enter his third season at Winthrop after three seasons as head coach at Western Carolina.
