Xavier senior guard Nate Johnson will miss the rest of this season with a leg injury

Xavier's men's basketball team announced Saturday, hours before the team was to host Creighton in the final home game of the season, that senior guard Nate Johnson will miss the rest of the season with a lower left leg injury.

Johnson, who started the first 16 games of the season for the Musketeers, missed Wednesday's loss at Providence and will not return this season.

Johnson was one of Xavier's best players this season. He was the Musketeers' third-leading scorer (11.4) and the best perimeter threat, ranking seventh nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (.452).

He averaged a little more than 30 minutes per game and now the Musketeers will have to find a way to fill that void in a hurry with only three games left in the regular season.
