The test isn't over until there's no time left.
Xavier spent the first 20 minutes on Friday night in a state of confusion and incoherence.
Then in the second half, after trailing Kent State 36-31 at the break, Xavier found its finest form of the season and used a 16-2 run to pull away from the Golden Flashes for a 73-59 win that puts the Musketeers at 2-0 heading into next week's Gavitt Games matchup against Ohio State.
Xavier held Kent State to seven total points over the final 10:25 of the game.
Paul Scruggs led Xavier with 23 points and seven rebounds.
