With a harsh reminder that basketball belongs to winter right outside Cintas Center on a sloppy Monday night, conditions weren't much better inside when Xavier took the floor against Eastern Kentucky.
In a game where Xavier had 25 turnovers allowed Eastern Kentucky to pull down 18 offensive rebounds, the Musketeers were mighty lucky to survive in overtime, 99-96.
Xavier head coach Travis Steele called it, "One of the sloppiest games I've ever been a part of."
Eastern Kentucky's Tre King nailed a 3-pointer in the final second of regulation to force overtime. Xavier managed to make five of its final six shots -- including back-to-back clutch 3-pointers from Nate Johnson -- and some key free throws in overtime to hold on for dear life.
