Xavier athletics announced Thursday the creation of the Coach Daily Basketball Managers Endowment, which will benefit Xavier basketball's managers.
The announcement comes as Xavier prepares to honor former assistant coach Bill Daily during Saturday's men's basketball game against Wake Forest at Cintas Center (8 p.m.).
The endowment will ensure that Xavier basketball can provide managers with a stipend each year, according to an athletic department news release.
Daily championed Xavier athletics and, according to the news release, helped usher the men's basketball program into the modern era.
His works included advocating against the athletic department from relegating itself to Division III status decades ago and assisting in efforts related to the construction of Cintas Center.
