One of the major priorities for Xavier University's men's basketball team was Tyrell Ward, a 6-foot-7 small forward from perennial power DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Ward, a four-star prospect who's listed as the No. 49 player in the country by 247Sports' composite rankings, verbally committed to the Musketeers Monday.
Ward's composite ranking makes him the fifth-highest-rated recruit in program history – since the advent of recruiting rankings – behind only Semaj Christon (31), Paul Scruggs (34), Trevon Bluiett (39) and Kenny Frease (40).
