Monday night was the first Travis Steele radio show of the season and Xavier University's men's basketball coach quickly provided an update on the injury to star forward Zach Freemantle.
It was reported last week that Freemantle's out indefinitely with a foot injury.
Steele said on his show that Freemantle underwent surgery by the New York Knicks doctor in New York the day before Big East Conference Media Day on Oct. 18.
The recovery timeline given following that surgery was six weeks, said Steele, but foot injuries are hard to predict.
It's been two weeks since Freemantle's surgery and the timeline provided would – best-case scenario – have Freemantle back on Nov.
