Justin Gabbard has been confident in his physical skills in golf.
But it was his developing mental and emotional skills that earned the 2021 Highlands High School graduate and Xavier University rising sophomore one of his biggest accomplishments earlier this month.
Gabbard qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship July 11 at TPC River’s Bend in Mainesville. He shot a 7-under score of 137 for the two-round tournament to earn one of only two spots available for the prestigious national tournament.
The U.S. Amateur will be held Aug. 15-22 at The Ridgewood Country Club and Arcola Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey.
