TEMPE, Ariz. - Xavier baseball was shut out for the first time this season, falling 12-0 in the series opener on Friday against No. 23 Arizona State at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
XU fell to 5-6 overall and saw a four game losing streak come to an end. ASU remains one of the hottest teams in the nation with a 13-0 record.
Xavier returns to action on Saturday with an 8:30 p.m. ET start time scheduled for game two.
