SOUTH CAROLINA – Xavier baseball will make the short trip from Spartanburg to Columbia before heading to Rock Hill on Wednesday. Tuesday's game has been moved up to a 3:00 p.m. start due to forecasted weather, and will mark the Musketeers' first meeting with South Carolina. Wednesday will be the 7th meeting at Winthrop, having previously been swept in 2006 and 2007.
- South Carolina has enjoyed a 7-4 start to the season behind series whens over UNC Greensboro and George Washington. They also beat Xavier's Wednesday opponent, Winthrop, by a score of 7-1.
- The Gamecocks aren't on a hot streak though, as they just got swept by their in-state rival Clemson last weekend and so they return to Founder's Park losers of three-straight.
