CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball defeated crosstown rival Cincinnati in four set (25-12, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20) on Saturday afternoon at Fifth Third Arena. Both teams moved to 2-2 on the year following the match.
The win snapped Xavier's five-match losing streak in the series. The win over the Bearcats is the team's first win in the series since a three-set win on Aug. 30, 2014 at Cintas Center. It was also Xavier's first road win in the series since Oct. 22, 2013.

Xavier opened the set by scoring 12 of the first 14 points of the match and led by as many 13 points (17-4) midway through the frame.
