Desmond Claude, a four-star point guard out of New Haven, Connecticut, announced Sunday evening that he's honoring his commitment to Xavier's men's basketball program.
Claude, who originally committed on Jan. 20 to former Xavier head coach Travis Steele, is the No. 87 recruit in the country in the 2022 class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Claude said in a social media statement: "Due to the recent coaching change at Xavier University, I've taken some time to reevaluate the status of my commitment to Xavier University. After meeting with coach Miller last week and talking it over with my family, I'm reaffirming my commitment to Xavier University.
