By any objective measure, Xavier basketball's had a remarkable 2017.
The Musketeers are a combined 25-14 in calendar year 2017 over parts of two seasons, one of which ended with a surge to the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament and an appearance in the semifinal round of the Big East Tournament last spring.
As things stand, Xavier will ring in 2018 as the No. 6-ranked team in America, and as owners of at least a 13-2 record in the current season.
Time marches on, of course, and as much as some Xavier fans would like to be stuck in the high moments that came this past year, all that's left for the Musketeers in calendar year 2017 is the bookend.
