Xavier basketball plays possibly best game of the season to beat Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Xavier's men's basketball team saved maybe its best game of the season for Wednesday night at Providence. The Musketeers handed the Friars their first home loss, 94-89, and never trailed once. Souley Boum and Colby Jones were sensational.

Boum led all scorers with 33 points. Jones had 29 points and went 10-of-11 from the field, 3-for-3 from beyond the arc and 6-7 from the foul line.

Xavier improves to 22-8 overall and 14-5 in the Big East Conference.

Xavier hosts the Butler Bulldogs Saturday and then will wait to see where it's seeded in the Big East Tournament next week at Madison Square Garden.
