CINCINNATI, OH - Xavier baseball erased an early one-run lead for the Cincinnati Bearcats, then used a pair of late home runs to secure an 8-7 win in the series opener at UC Baseball Stadium.
Cincinnati plated a run in the first inning, and held the 1-0 lead into the fourth. Xavier score three in the inning, with Garrett Schultz knocking in one on an RBI double, and Matthew DePrey hitting a two-RBI single to give Xavier the the 3-1 inning headed to the bottom of the innings.
The Bearcats responded with a three-run bottom of the frame to retake a 4-3 lead, but the Musketeer offense responded immediately, manufacturing a pair of runs to inch back in front, 5-4.
