NEW YORK – Xavier baseball secured the No. 2 seed in next week's BIG EAST Championship with results around the league today. The Musketeers will co-host the tournament, held at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, from Thursday, May 23 through Sunday, May 26.
The Musketeers will open play on Thursday evening against No. 3 seed St. John's in the second game of the day. Xavier went 2-1 against the Red Storm earlier this season in Queens, N.Y.
Xavier went 12-4 in BIG EAST play, securing series wins against five of six league opponents. The Musketeers secured three sweeps, including going 3-0 against Georgetown and 2-0 against Butler and Villanova in rain-shortened series.
