STORRS, Conn. - Xavier women's soccer picked up the 1-0 win at UConn on Sunday afternoon, staying unbeaten in BIG EAST play. The Musketeers moved to 10-2-3 overall and 3-0-3 in BIG EAST play.
Xavier took the lead in the 31st minute, with Samantha Wiehe scoring from Sonia Vargas, to take the 1-0 lead into the half. Xavier had a 6-5 advantage on shots in the first 45 minutes, with all six looks on-frame for the Musketeers.
In the second half, UConn held a 7-5 advantage on shots overall looking for the equalizer, but the Musketeers limited the Huskies to just two looks on-goal.
