Women's Golf Sits Tied for Fifth After Day One in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Xavier women's golf carded a solid team score of 292 with a pair of individuals in the top-20 after the first round of the Princess Anne Invitational on Friday.

The Musketeers were led by senior Mikayla Smith and graduate student Lyndsey Hunnell, who both shot a 72 (+2) on the day. Their performances left them in a tie for 18th overall in the tournament. Hunnell ended the day as the leader in Par 3 scoring at 2.67 (-2) and near the top in total pars with 12. Smith is tied for second in Par 5 scoring at 4.
