PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Xavier women's basketball dropped a 69-48 road contest at Providence on Sunday afternoon. The Musketeers moved to 9-19 (2-15 BIG EAST), while the Friars improved to 10-18 (3-14 BIG EAST).
• Providence hit 92.3 percent (12-for-13) of its shot attempts in the opening quarter to take a 28-6 lead. Xavier was limited to 2-for-12 shooting in the opening frame.
• Providence hit 84.2 percent (16-for-19) of its shot attempts through the first 15 minutes of play to build a 37-11 advantage. Xavier held the Friars to 0-for-8 shooting to end the half and outscored Providence, 12-11, to make the score 39-18.
